Sigma-Aldrich Catalog and Safety Data Now Available in Synthematix’s Arthur™ Suite

Synthematix, Inc., a provider of chemistry reaction planning and Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) systems for scientific knowledge management, announced today that Sigma-Aldrich’s catalog and safety data will be available to users of the Arthur Suite.

Scientists will be able to select and analyze compounds from tens of thousands of the 85,000 chemical substances provided by Sigma-Aldrich.  MSDS information will also be available from Sigma-Aldrich’s database.  Using Synthematix’s Arthur Suite, scientists can plan their chemical reactions with accuracy, safety and speed.

“We are extremely pleased to announce this latest collaboration with the world’s leading supplier of chemicals for research,” said Steve Jones, CEO of Synthematix.  “This is yet another step in furthering our vision of the Arthur Suite as the integrative solution on every research chemist’s desktop.  Chemists want to access information and order substances from Sigma-Aldrich without difficulty, and we’re making it easier for chemists to accomplish these objectives.”

Synthematix’s Arthur Suite is the industry’s leading ELN system for scientific knowledge management.  The Arthur Suite enables chemists to rapidly plan their reactions using aggregated scientific data from within the organization and from external databases.  Experiments are easily and accurately planned, then recorded electronically.  Templating or scaling reactions is supported from discovery chemistry through process development.  The resulting institutional memory represents a powerful competitive advantage for Arthur Suite’s users.

“Synthematix and Sigma-Aldrich have enjoyed a mutually-rewarding partnership,” said David Feldker, Vice President, SAFC, for Sigma-Aldrich.  “Synthematix is a leader in helping chemists utilize compounds for important and safe chemical transformations.  Its innovative ELN solution is an important contribution to the industry.  We supply the world’s leading selection of fine chemicals—making our data more easily accessible to Synthematix’s customers makes good business sense and supports our common customer base.”
