Site-wide License for Ariadne’s Pathway Studio renewed by NCI

ROCKVILLE, MD— March 4, 2011 – Ariadne, a leader in bioinformatics software and knowledge integration, announced that National Cancer Institute (NCI) has renewed their license for Pathway Studio® Enterprise system that includes the ResNet® Mammalian database and Ariadne MedScan® text processing technology for site-wide use. Pathway Studio offers researchers the ability to create new cancer disease pathways and develop mechanistic rationale for disease based on molecular facts from public data and the latest research findings recovered using MedScan. In addition, Pathway Studio supports interdepartmental and institutional data sharing and integration of research findings as well as experimental data to augment the understanding of the molecular basis of cancer.

“We are proud for the opportunity to work with leaders in cancer research like those at NCI, the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, MD Anderson, Georgetown University, and contribute to the state of knowledge in oncology. Our tools can be productive when used individually, but can also help researchers to work collaboratively, to share findings between research institutes,” states Dr. Ilya Mazo, President, Ariadne. He continues, “Researchers have access to a wide-range of information, yet extracting actionable knowledge or intelligence from this data can often prove difficult. We welcome the opportunity to help NCI researchers capture, curate and dispense our bioinformatics expertise in support of their scientific innovation.”

Pathway Studio’s workflow approach allows researchers to mine, integrate, analyze and visualize results individually or as an integrated workflow. Each step can be saved, then updated or modified as new information becomes available. Separate analyses can be combined or intersected for advanced applications and discovery.
