Laboratories in change – a human perspective

Esa Saarinen is a philosopher, famed public speaker, media figure and corporate coach who has worked extensively with Finnish companies such as Nokia. As Professor at Helsinki University of Technology, Systems Analysis Laboratory, he has developed the concept of “systems intelligence”, as a means of combining engineering and humanistic approaches to the understading of human behaviour.

LIMS Database – from data graveyard to management asset?

Detailed data in the LIMS database is potentially valuable basis for building data warehouse applications supporting process development and other laboratory management purposes. This session discusses basic concepts and practical implementations of using LIMS data for business intelligence (BI), customer relations management (CRM) and activity based costing (ABC) in laboratories. Several cases will be presented to share practical experiences.
