Software Point chosen to deliver LIMS for Finnish Food Safety Authority (EVIRA)
Finnish Food Safety Authority (EVIRA) has today informed Software Point on their decision to purchase an extensive LIMS system to support their operations from Software Point. The procurement is currently waiting for the completion of the official procedures related to public tenders, and Software Point expects to sign the actual delivery contract within October 2008.
The LIMS delivery will be based on LabVantage Sapphire LIMS. The new LIMS will cover all Evira’s laboratory and control activities in Animal Health and Welfare, Food Safety, Plant Production and Health. For the veterinary laboratories Sapphire LIMS will include microbiology and pathology functionalities from Clinical LIMS, originally developed by Software Point for its healthcare customers.
“The multidisciplinary Sapphire LIMS will replace several current LIMS installations within EVIRA. There will be contract options for expanding the LIMS to other instances close to EVIRA such as METLA (Finnish Forest Research Institute).” comments Marjut Pokkinen business area manager at Software Point.
