“The purpose of this acquisition is to acquire toxicology screening services to detect the presence and abundance of drugs of abuse, therapeutic drugs, and environmental toxins in human postmortem tissues, including brain, and blood. These data will be provided back to the NIH NBB contractor and will constitute a component of the phenotypic characterization of these tissues which will accompany the donor’s demographic, clinical and pathological data. More importantly this information will inform the design of the scientific investigations undertaken by researchers receiving tissues from the NIH NBB.”
