Synopsis:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, Springfield, Missouri, intends to award on a sole source base under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 with Opus Healthcare Solutions, 10713 N. Ranch Road 620, Suite 400, Austin, TX 78726 for maintenance service and software support the the Opus Healthcare Solutions Laboratory Information System (LIS). The LIS is located at the U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners. The support is provided during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless the emergency is identified as a priority 1 or 2. The procurement will be for a firm-fixed priced purchase order for the anticipated period 10/1/08 through 9/30/09, or until implementation of the new LIS system. Any firm who believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by August 15, 2008, 2:00 p.m. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must show competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement to Opus Healthcare Solutions. All vendors are hereby notified if your response is not received by the date and time specified in this notice, it will not be considered. Faith-Based and Community -Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
