Spectra QEST Signs Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads for State-Wide Laboratory Solution

(PRWEB) May 22, 2015

The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has gone live with QESTLab in all of its materials testing laboratories throughout Queensland, including Herston, Toowoomba, Warwick, Roma, Bundaberg, Barcaldine, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Cloncurry. The successful implementation only took three months and the TMR is already seeing the benefits of streamlined laboratory processes and improved efficiency in laboratory management, testing and reporting. QESTLab has replaced multiple paper and electronic systems previously used in their laboratory operations.

Spectra QEST Executive Director, Global Sales, Stephan Mavrakis commented on the milestone that this implementation represents. “This is the first time a platform for the management of quality data relating to road projects has been used so extensively in one jurisdiction. Not only is this platform being utilised in all of the Department of Transport’s laboratories throughout Queensland, but it is also used by many of the Department’s key suppliers and sub-contractors with virtually all leading concrete, aggregate and asphalt providers, as well as leading engineering design and testing firms throughout Queensland using the QEST Platform. The possibilities for collecting, sharing and analysing data in innovative ways by all stakeholders on a road project are endless. The Department’s vision is definitely going to produce better quality roads for the public.”
