St. John’s Episcopal Hospital Selects Amelior ED-TM- Software for Its Emergency Department Information System
Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS), a provider of advanced clinical information systems for high acuity departments, today announced that St.John’s Episcopal Hospital, South Shore, in Far Rockaway, N.Y., has selected the Amelior ED(TM) patient care system for their emergency department information system (EDIS) after an extensive vendor search. Patient Care Technology Systems is exhibiting at the HIMSS Conference from Feb. 14-17 at the Dallas Convention Center in booth #347.
The Amelior ED system provides comprehensive patient information management from patient triage-to-disposition with available data entry-free passive tracking of patients, integrated computerized physician order entry (CPOE), and extensive clinical decision support.
“The patient safety strength of the Amelior ED system with its integrated clinical decision support initially attracted our search committee to PCTS,” said Samuel Okonta, M.D., ED medical director at St. John’s Episcopal. “As a community teaching institution, we recognize the role for integrating intelligent automation tools such as the Amelior ED system as part of our emergency medical training program.” “The unique no-capital business model for a complete ED information system inclusive of hardware and integration made the Amelior ED system the best business decision for our hospital as well,” added Ron Tomo, chief information officer at St. John’s parent, Episcopal Health Services.
“We are pleased to welcome St. John’s Episcopal Hospital and Episcopal Health Services to our growing family of leading hospitals who have determined that the Amelior ED patient care system represents the best patient care choice for their department,” said Stephen Armstrong, VP of marketing at PCTS. “PCTS is one of the fastest growing organizations dedicated to providing patient safety solutions in emergency medicine.”
