Sysmex Announces New Software Modules for Hematology Data Management System: MOLIS WAM

MUNDELEIN, Ill., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ — Sysmex is pleased to announce the release of a new version of its MOLIS WAM hematology information management system, which includes a new Quality Control Module to improve laboratory efficiency and operation by consolidating patient and QC results into one data management system.

MOLIS WAM is a comprehensive hematology decision management system for auto-validation and manual validation for rules-triggered samples. The depth of functionality is specific for the unique hematology environment and has been designed to cover all resulting and reflexing contingencies for instrument, manual differential and smear results.

“With our latest enhancements to MOLIS WAM, Sysmex continues to drive its commitment to merge the best information systems and laboratory instrumentation available on the market today,” says John Kershaw, President of Sysmex America, Inc.

Sysmex launches the MOLIS WAM QC Module, which consolidates the review of quality control (QC) from the instruments into a single view for validation in real time. The module provides the ability to monitor QC over time from one control point. The robust graphing program permits the user to superimpose up to six Levy-Jennings graphs to compare the performance of the combination of controls and instruments and includes reports for monitoring historical quality control data.

Additional enhancements provided with Version 3.0 of MOLIS WAM include a comprehensive critical result module, new validation query options and a complete online Help system.

“We believe that laboratories are making an investment in Sysmex for the long term,” explains Ranjit Pradhan, Vice President, Health IT Systems at Sysmex. “Our job is to continue to enhance and improve our products even as the IT landscape changes. These new MOLIS WAM enhancements represent that commitment.”
