Tecan Previews EVOware Sample Tracking Module at Lab Automation 2005

Tecan, a leader in the Life Sciences supply industry, today announced the Q2 launch of an add-on for EVOware, EVOware Sample Tracking Module. This extends the functionality of Evoware to provide robust sample-based tracking and reporting functions.

According to Christoph Kaufmann, Tecan Global Product Manager for Robotic Platforms, “Sample-tracking module is the first example of added functionality made possible by the modular architecture of EVOware. As new functionalities are necessary, they can be provided as added modules without waiting for a complete release of the software, allowing Tecan to respond rapidly to emerging customers needs. ”

Among the features of the EVOware Sample Tracking Module are the ability to import compound lists, robust interactions with LIMS systems, seamless interaction with Magellan, Tecan’s data reduction software, and the ability to consolidate data from a process involving more than one EVO liquid handler.

EVOware is the robotic procedure design software designed for Tecan’s EVO series of liquid handlers and robotic workstations. It combines an easy-to-learn scripting language with a powerful dynamic scheduling software.

The functionalities of the EVOware Sample Tracking Module will be discussed in a workshop at this week’s LabAutomation conference in San Jose, California. Features of the EVOware software itself will be recapped, and the next add-on modules to EVOware will be discussed.
