Do you know any people like this? I sure do. The industry seems to be made up of sales people who proclaim technobabble as if they were an authority and when it comes down to it they don’t know how to define it let alone incorporate it into a product in any meaningful or applicable way. It is a hold over from the dot-bomb days and good riddance.
LIMS is a very technical area both on the IT front and the laboratory front. Customers should not have to suffer technobabble. By the way, beware of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) tech talk being put out today. Get the LIMS vendor to explain precisely how it helps the laboratory in their bread and butter functions.
