The Jackson Laboratory Selects ImageIQ to Create Mouse Embryo Image Analysis Software

CLEVELAND–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ImageIQ, a Cleveland Clinic-founded contract research organization providing imaging analysis software and services, announces that it has been chosen by The Jackson Laboratory, a nonprofit genetics research institution, to create imaging analysis software that will enhance the quality of its mouse embryo research. The software, which will be utilized internally by The Jackson Laboratory’s 1,400 employee organization, will provide a consistent and documentable way to analyze the embryonic quality of its genetically defined mice, which are used throughout the world for medical and other research purposes. Because mice and humans share 95% of their genes, mice are an effective and efficient model for human diseases.

“Based on imaging analysis techniques, we expect the software to improve the quality of the analysis performed, and it is expected that the software will reduce the time that our staff spends doing routine work,” said Robert Taft, PhD, The Jackson Laboratory’s Scientific Director of Reproductive Sciences. “We selected ImageIQ because of their strength and expertise in medical imaging analytics, and their willingness to work cooperatively to create a solution that makes the most sense for our business, instead of the cookie-cutter approach offered by other imaging CRO’s.”

“We are excited to apply our imaging analytics software development expertise for The Jackson Laboratory“,” says Tim Kulbago, ImageIQ CEO. “We are honored to be a part of The Jackson Laboratory’s incredibly important work.”

Both ImageIQ and The Jackson Laboratory see this as the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership to infuse advanced imaging analytics into many aspects of The Jackson Laboratory’s mission of discovering the genetic basis for preventing, treating and curing human disease, and to enable research for the global biomedical community.
