Thermo to Host Product Unveiling Event for Commercial-Off-the-Shelf LIMS

Thermo Electron Corporation, the leading provider of analytical instruments and informatics, is hosting a complimentary event to introduce Darwin LIMS, its latest commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) designed specifically for pharmaceutical manufacturing R&D and quality control. The company will also outline the development path for its flagship LIMS, SampleManager, as a COTS solution for customers in the process industries.

The event will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at The National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is private and requires pre-registration. To register for this free event, visit www.thermo.com/discover .

The day will feature presentations on Thermo’s strategy to consistently deliver software solutions that significantly close the functionality gap between standard software and customer requirements. Live demonstrations of Darwin and SampleManager will be provided, in addition to a technology panel with Thermo’s management and product development staff.

Lab managers, information technology and purchasing executives, and users will benefit from this introduction to Thermo’s COTS strategy. Attendees will see first-hand how Thermo has reduced the unpredictable cost and time associated with customizing traditional LIMS solutions to meet user requirements.
