NEWS FLASH: TORONTO, October 3, 2003 – U.S. Team Medals at 35th International Chemistry Olympiad, with ACD/Labs Support
Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc., (ACD/Labs) is proud to have supported the U.S. Chemistry Olympiad Team in their preparation for the 35th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) held from July 5-14, 2003 in Athens, Greece. The four team members were among 232 high school students representing 59 countries at this year’s competition, and the team returned home with one silver and three bronze medals. The four students were selected from among the 10,000 students who participated in the 2003 U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO), and from the top twenty students who participated in the intensive two-week USNCO study camp at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. ACD/Labs supported the team with their donations of chemistry software, t-shirts, and other goodies to the study camp. Cecilia Hernandez, Coordinator of the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad, expressed to ACD/Labs with gratitude, “Private support greatly expands our efforts to invest in the future of young chemists in this country. Your investment in USNCO affirms your commitment to quality education.”
