Waters Corporation Enters Into Collaborations with Chinese Partners

In ceremonies held today, Waters Corporation (NYSE: WAT) formally announced collaborations with the China Municipal Center for Disease Prevention and Control (China CDC), Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Prevention and Control (BJCDC) and The Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to provide technology and expertise for food safety analysis and environmental regulatory compliance.

With the successful inclusion of China into WTO (in 2001) and their successful bid to host the Olympics in 2008, the Chinese authority is sparing no effort to comply with the international food safety and environmental standards. To meet the stringent international standards and the tight deadline, the Chinese authority recognizes the value of working closely with the scientific analytical instrument industry.

Today’s announcement and ceremony solidifies the partnerships aimed at bringing out the best in each organization in meeting increasingly stringent food safety and environmental standards in China. The President of Waters Corporation, Art Caputo was in town to participate in this collaboration signing ceremony.
