“Testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in adolescents, children and in cases of abuse is challenging due to limitations associated with common STI tests. Identification of an STI in these populations can carry both medical and legal implications, placing additional scrutiny on testing procedures. In this webinar speakers with experience testing for STIs in adolescents, children and in cases of abuse will discuss the current recommendations for STI testing and describe the strategies laboratorians use to maintain legally compliant and defensible STI testing in these special populations.”
