Wineman Technology CANalytics Platform Brings CAN Bus Test Technology to National Instruments LabVIEW Tools Network

SAGINAW, Mich., Feb. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Wineman Technology, Inc., a leading test solutions company, today announced the Wineman Technology CANalytics software is now available on the NI LabVIEW Tools Network. The CANalytics platform provides an interface to maximize the benefits of CAN bus hardware, particularly for automotive and aerospace applications where it provides a durable network that supports communication between multiple electronic control units (ECUs). With the CANalytics LabVIEW API, engineers can save time and money by easily creating an interface to integrate with a LabVIEW application, rather than developing a completely custom GUI for every CAN application.

The LabVIEW Tools Network is the NI app store equipping engineers and scientists with high-quality, third- party add-ons and apps to complete their systems. These cutting-edge technologies expand the power of NI software and modular hardware. NI customers can use software platforms like CANalytics to further enhance NI-based systems. All third-party software on the LabVIEW Tools Network must meet specific requirements to ensure the software properly integrates with NI software and hardware.

CANalytics for ECU Simulation and Test
While traditional CAN analysis tools that provide an interface and automate devices on a network are extremely extensive and subsequently expensive, the CANalytics platform from Wineman Technology makes the most common benefits of CAN accessible in one cohesive application with a CAN interface as a standalone executable. CANalytics omits costly and often unneeded CAN features, allowing R&D or ATE engineers to successfully simulate an ECU and test resulting signals easily. With the CANalytics platform, engineers can develop custom applications through a fully featured interface, and use that interface to integrate automated processes. The CANalytics platform also includes a CAN database and editor.

Since its launch in 2016, the CANalytics platform has seen much success with the platform from companies like Akebono, an automotive brake system manufacturer.

“The CANalytics platform has provided beneficial return on investment within our laboratory test environment. Using our HiL test stand, we are able to easily configure both our hardware and software components from a single development environment,” said George Ritter, Controls Engineer at Akebono Brake Corporation. “As compared to competitive market packages, CANalytics provides all required functions for database configuration and signal monitoring while maintaining a highly competitive cost structure.”

A Successful History with NI Platforms, NIWeek 2017
Wineman Technology believes open, adaptable platforms are critical to the long-term success of clients’ test investments. The company’s systems are designed by customizing the latest off-the-shelf hardware and non-proprietary architectures from companies like NI, ultimately providing solutions that are cost-effective and more easily maintained.

Wineman Technology is a Gold Alliance Partner with NI, and CANalytics is one of many Wineman Technology solutions that bring specific test and data analysis tools to NI platforms. Others include:

INERTIAâ„¢, a configurable automation software optimized for real-time control and data acquisition, component test, and test cell automation that can be used with NI VeriStand to easily create and execute real-time control applications including dynamometer and servo-hydraulic test systems. INERTIA is also available on the LabVIEW Tools Network.
TestTracker, a data management software that provides a dashboard lab managers can use to see all tests in the lab and assess efficiency or uptime data from any testers, including those running tests with LabVIEW, NI VeriStand, or INERTIA, and bring all data to a centralized location.
Wineman Technology will feature the CANalytics platform at NIWeek, the annual conference for National Instruments Alliance Partners and customers, May 22-25 in Austin, Texas.
