Wonderware Receives Top Control Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards for Both HMI and SCADA Software
For the 11th year in a row, Control magazine readers have awarded Wonderware first place in the HMI software category and its SCADA application ranked first for the second consecutive year in the magazine’s 2005 “Readers’ Choice Awards.” Wonderware is a business unit of Invensys Systems, Inc.
In the annual reader survey, Wonderware’s InTouch HMI was selected as the most popular software product for industrial automation, process control and supervisory monitoring. InTouch software is in worldwide use at more than 180,000 installations in a variety of industries including food processing, oil and gas, automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, transportation and power utilities.
Earning 32 percent of the vote, with the second place winner at 24 percent, 2005 is the 11th consecutive year that Wonderware ranked No. 1 in the “Software, Human Machine Interface” category. The Wonderware HMI has ranked first for HMI since Control magazine began offering an HMI category in 1995. Wonderware’s SCADA software earned 21 percent of the Control readers’ votes for its second year as No. 1 in the “Software, Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition” category.
“The Control Readers’ Choice Award is just that, the readers choose the best products in the industry based on their own criteria,” said Walt Boyes, editor-in-chief of Control magazine. “We ask only open-ended questions in our survey, and sometimes we are surprised by the results. In the case of Wonderware, there wasn’t much surprise.”
As part of the magazine’s 13th annual awards program, Control editors surveyed more than 24,000 selected subscribers. The readership was asked to name the top vendors in 65 industrial automation technology categories and rate their customer service.
