07/27/2009 - Agilent Technologies to Acquire Varian, Inc. for $1.5 Billion

Agilent Technologies Inc. and Varian Inc. today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for the acquisition by Agilent of Varian, a leading worldwide supplier of scientific instrumentation and associated consumables for life science and applied market applications.

07/27/2009 - Tracking Tissues, Cassettes & Slides in Pre-Clinical Studies

The modern pre-clinical pathology study may generate thousands of individual “samples” that must be processed and managed in a GLP compliant manner. This is a major undertaking and one that most companies carryout with some type of paper-based system. Computerizing such tracking and record keeping eliminates these paper records allowing samples to be located more easily across multiple laboratories and sites.

AACC announced an agreement today with the Chinese Society of Laboratory Medicine (CSLM) for the development of a Chinese version of Lab Tests Online (www.labtestsonline.org), AACC’s award-winning patient resource for information on laboratory testing. CSLM expects to launch the new site in November.
