ABBOTT INFORMATICS LAUNCHES STARLIMS V11.1 TECHNOLOGY

Abbott Informatics is pleased to announce the release of STARLIMS technology version 11.1.  STARLIMS technology releases allow customers to update their system to incorporate support for new functionality, the latest operating systems and security updates while maintaining compatibility with the business rules they have already configured.  This release includes a number of features:

  • Offline Mobile capabilities which allows laboratory customers to use mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to collect and record information while away from the office, eliminating the need to use paper or other manual ways of recording the data.  Some customers need to travel to locations without a cellular connection to collect samples or record information.  The new offline mobile capabilities will enable customers to record that data while in a disconnected mode, and later synchronize the data with the STARLIMS server when they are back in the office.
  • Scaling Improvements which support high resolution displays used on the latest smartphones and tablets.  High resolution displays require on-screen elements be repositioned and displayed in a way which takes advantage of the large pixel density.  This new release enhances the user experience by providing application screens appropriately sized for high resolution displays.
  • A new Deployment option which allows for an easier process to install custom configurations, without the need to go into the Designer development environment.
  • New Developer feature which allows customers to increase performance of custom code through the use of Object Relationship Mapping (ORM) model
  • Support for the latest operating systems from Microsoft, including Windows 8.1, IE11 and SQL Server 2014, as well as the latest version of Apple iOS (8.4) and Google Android (4.4.2 KitKat and 5.0.1 Lollipop)
  • Security Enhancements
