AMO Selects NEWTON™ LIMS from InnaPhase for its QC Manufacturing Facility in Spain

InnaPhase Corporation, a world-leading provider of enterprise Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) solutions, today announced that Advanced Medical Optics, Inc. (AMO), has purchased licenses for its Newton™ LIMS solution to handle quality control data management at AMO’s manufacturing facility in Alcobendas, Spain.

“In Newton, we have found a LIMS that meets the vast majority of our requirements right out of the box,” said Mary West, vice president and chief information officer for AMO. “With such robust functionality, the Newton product enables us to meet our mission-critical project deadlines. In addition, Newton takes full advantage of modern systems architecture and widely accepted technologies, which falls in line with AMO’s corporate IT strategy and allows us to easily maintain and support the LIMS system.”

A purpose-built solution from InnaPhase’s Pharma LIMS™ Suite, Newton LIMS was developed to handle information management functions specific to pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations, such as batch release, quality control, formulation, stability and analytical development in pharmaceutical laboratories.

“AMO’s selection of Newton is a complete validation of our product development strategy,” said Jo Webber, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of InnaPhase Corporation. “We set out to develop a LIMS that would more immediately meet the very specific needs of companies whose products are regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. We expect the benefits to AMO, in addition to rapid deployment, will include a decrease in the cost of validating, integrating, and maintaining Newton.”
