Non-free audio example

The .ogg file File:Lady Gaga - Applause (Music Sample).ogg has been nominated for deletion. Regardless of whether it is deleted, its usage here should be supported by relevant discussion of what is heard on the sample, supported by cites. Currently, the only thing we are telling the reader about the sample is that it has "stuttering" synthesizers that recall Gaga's Fame work. The audio sample, however, does not highlight the pulsating or stuttering synths.

The cited sources for this are the following:

  • Digital Spy saying, "Coincidentally the track's hi-NRG beats and stuttering synths aren't too dissimilar from a warning alarm..."
  • Idolator saying, "The opening, pulsating synths are a straight-up throwback to the 'Poker Face' intro—albeit slightly sped up—while the handclap-laden chorus swells and soars with the same pop frenzy that made 'Paparazzi' such a delight."

These sources don't match the selected portion of the .ogg file, which fails to show the beginning with "pulsating synths", fails to show a "hand-clap laden chorus", and fails to show "stuttering synths". If someone wishes to show these things, then a different section of the song should be uploaded. Binksternet (talk) 21:56, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

release date incorrect

I saw an earlier suggestion about this, but it appears to have been changed back. Release date is nov.11, not 6th http://www.mtv.com/news/1710440/lady-gaga-artpop-announcement/ Lacyriona (talk) 13:42, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The 6th actually is correct, and we're supposed to use the earliest known release date. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 15:36, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Artpop should be written as ARTPOP 2A00:23C6:7D90:8601:C5CE:73CB:8F4B:5405 (talk) 13:30, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit semi-protected}} template. And also read MOS:TMRULES. Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 13:43, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot find any support for the name of this album being Artpop instead of ARTPOP. Wikipedia seems to be the only place that claims it to be the case. Some names have one spelling or way of being written and are stylized differently (e.g., the iPhone 6s stylized as iPhone 6🅂), but that is not the case here. @RoyLeban: Then file a move request, which is how consensus is achieved in order to move titles, and as per Paper9oll pointed out above, WP:TMRULES applies. Sources are not consistent on how they render this title. Ss112 13:45, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
