Please read WP:DRAFTNOCAT. There is a good reason for that and once your article is accepted (see no reason it shouldn't be) it can be properly categorized. You know what you are doing. Start as a Draft: article by all means, but, when you are ready, assuming it to be of this standard, simply go ahead and migrate it to main name space. There is no need for the Articles for Creation banners and approval scheme for your work.

Actually, "father advice"

When creating articles, know when to let go. I don't mean you should stop adding useful information, but know when to be the article's father, not its mother. It has to run free and scrape its knees, not be wrapped in soft towels. So be a father, not a mother, and step away from every article you create as soon as you deem it to be capable of surviving a deletion discussion. You will be amazed how some will catch people's imagination and they will improve them beyond your wildest dreams, and others will seem to languish for years unedited by a single other editor.

... we use disambiguation pages to differentiate between the articles on Wikipedia. George Fried, currently, is th only gentleman with a WP article, so, by convention, his will take precedence, and all the others will be names with some sort of qualifier in parentheses after them, eg George Fried (acrobat), who may or may not exist. Ideally, the editor creating probably the third George Fried article will create George Fried (disambiguation), which will list all the folk so named.

There's more to learn than you can shake a stick at, and that is fine, because there is always someone who will solve the problem if you get it wrong. We expect folk to get it wrong. It;s the getting of it wrong in the same manner twice that makes folk wonder, not the first time ,

I am deleting this image. The rationale for use in the article Jack Silver (boxer) is not adequate. It fails our non-free content requirements because there's no contextual significance. Seeing an image of a fighter he met in a boxing match does not increase our understanding of the article topic (Jack Silver), so it fails NFCC #8. Please read the description carefully. The picture is the most critical photo in the article, as it identifies the boxer Jack Silver. It is from 1925, according to the book from which it was taken. Of course the book was published after 1923, but it states specifically the image was created in 1925 at the latest.

The image is the only identifying photo of the boxer i have been able to locate. It is historically significant as it illustrates the article for EDUCATIONAL purposes, and it is holds a critical place in the article. It illustrates the existence of Silver as a boxer. It is also nearly public domain anyway as the book indicates it was taken around 1925, only 2 years from being fully public domain anyway. It is also cropped from the original picture, and is used SOLELY to identify Jack Silver to the reader. Please consider keeping it. Thank-you The origial picture was owned by Jack Silver according to the caption. He is deceased. Please consider keeping the image. I have also searched the library of congress for LOC public domain copies and found none. Thank-you.

Just in case you don't already know - the best way is to use the move function when shifting an article from Draft to Article space. That keeps the history intact. The move function can be found under More in the Top Right corner of the page. You must excuse wikipedia - there are guidelines that are open to interpretation, some are acted upon, and some are not. Up-loading pictures is subject to this and I have never quite understood the ins and outs of the process. This is the bane of multi-contributor wikis with no single czar. Wish I coulde be more helpful.

With regard to notability and your articles in general I will say that personally I like your contributions. Well written, referenced and interesting subjects. However, for wikipedia the main arbitrator of notability is the WP:GNG with the various guidelines such as WP:NBOX designed not as a hard and fast rule but to help define what is likely to be notable. So you could have boxers which don't meet WP:NBOX but have more than enough reliable third party coverage to meet WP:GNG and they should be kept (this may be debated in AfD) and conversely boxers who meet WP:NBOX but without much in the way of coverage being kept on the assumption that more is out there. With all your articles so far, even the once who don't strictly meet WP:NBOX I think a good effort has been made to supply the needed references. Hi Dcw2003, I'm not sure why you refuse to acknowledge edits I make to your articles or just ignore any attempts to explain to you that Wikipedia has a manual of style that articles follow. It's only a simple policy, WP:HEAD states that headers follow sentence case not title case, so only the first word and any proper nouns begin with capital letters. Look around at other articles if you don't understand what I mean, or maybe read the policy so you know what it says. I have already left two low-level warnings because often times newer editors don't know about policy before making the edits, but I have also mentioned to you over-and-over again in edit summarys what the policy is and you keep changing back to incorrect style. Just because you create an article doesn't mean you own the article and can have it appear anyway you want. Any other editor can edit the articles you create. I really don't want to add other warnings because I don't want to cause problems for you because you have created some very good, well re-searched articles, and I want to see you create more of them. That's why I am leaving you this message, to try and reach out to you in the hopes you will work together with other editors like me who are only trying to follow policy when editing. Other editors have also fixed headers in your articles, so that should tell you there must be something to this. If you haven't read the policy, please do so, and if you don't understand something, all you have to do is ask me. dcw2003 I am rather certain you did not specifically state that headers follow sentence case. This is unusual as I have worked as a professional writer for many years, and have never seen this convention. I was not trying to ignore you. I would appreciate it if you would be more patient in your reprimands, and more specific. Thank-you for your interest. I can only say you may need to more specific in your critiques.

Actually there were no reprimands or criticisms, it was just attempts by another editor to inform you of Wikipedia's manual of style. The reason it seemed like you were ignoring me was because I had fixed the headers in numerous articles and cited policy in the edit summary but you kept adding them in all caps. Also, I am rather certain that I did specifically state that headers follow sentence case, and can show proof. You must have just missed it. In this edit[1] to Abie Bain, I left a link to the policy and told you in edit summary what the policy was. In Sid Terris article as well with this edit [2], other edits I made I pointed out the WP:HEAD policy, and in others I left an edit summary explaining my changes by stating that only the first word and proper nouns begin with capitals. It took two low-level warnings, numerous reverts and edit summarys and finally a long note explaining my edits to get you attention. Maybe I should have left the note at first and skipped the warnings, but the warning are not a big deal and not really all that much of a warning, there really just messages to let an editor there might be a problem and there usually enough to get the editors attention. Now, higher level warnings can cause problems and even lead in some cases to blocks which is why I left the note rather than keep warning. The last thing I wanted was to cause problems for you because as I stated earlier, your articles are very good and want to see you continue here. I came across Jack Silver by chance, which is why I checked for other articles to read them but when I see anything that needs to be touched up, I do it. It's not meant as criticism, and most of the time it's just mistakes the editor doesn't even know they made. Other editors will also do this. Trust me when I say this, compared to the manual of style I have to fix on a lot of other articles, you have nothing to worry about. If there is ever anything you need help with, or other problems you come across, I have no problem helping you out. Hi again, I want to make something clear about what I left on your talk page above. There were two low-level warnings, not three as you said on my talk page. The third was not a warning, it was a message trying to explain manual of style to you, where I even stated I was leaving the message because I did not want to leave a third warning. By leaving the warnings, I was doing what I am supposed to be doing. I left the level-one warning, when you continued, I left the level-two warning. The wording is from templates where each level gets a little stronger in tone. The list of warning templates can be found at WP:WARNING. If you find the wording vague, hard to understand, or negative in nature, I'm sorry but sending the template messages is the normal way to let newer editors know about policy. You can always go to the appropriate noticeboard and make your case there, or open up a report on me and see what happens. I doubt much since I don't believe I have done anything wrong. You can also go to the help page, and there are ways there to ask questions of other editors and get advice on editing. However, the best thing may be for you to just remove the warnings from your talk page as if they were never left there, and for me to refrain from copyediting any of the articles you wrote. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Jimmy Walsh (American boxer) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Jimmy Walsh (American boxer). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). I see the Frankie Klick (boxer) article, and the Frankie Klick article which you redirected, but I'm not sure what you mean by German language article. Are you referring to an article on the German Wikipedia or did someone add an article on this Wikipedia but wrote it in German? I'm not seeing any other Frankie Klick on the English Wikipedia, so a disambiguation page would not be needed. If this is the case, then the article you wrote would not need the (boxer) disambiguation, just the name. We only disambiguate pages if there is another article with the same name. All I get when I try to fix this is a message that says I don't have permission to move because another article with the name exists, and it can't be done manually because it would mess up the article history. I'll emphasize that edit summaries are an important part of communication between editors (nobody works in isolation here), so monitoring the page history is part of the necessary routine for experienced editors. It's the first thing I do when I start a new "day" at an article where I've been active—I check to see what's been done while I was away, with the option to view individual edits using the "prev" links at the left edge.
Also, most editors respond to a user talk post under it, rather than going to the other user's talk page; that way discussions are not fragmented. An editor posting here would generally be expected to watch the page for awhile for your response. If there's any doubt, you can use {{Reply to}} (or any of its popular aliases including "ping") within your reply to send them a notification of it.

Hello! I noticed that you'd had several images deleted, including several which are almost certainly in the public domain rather than nonfree due to their age. I certainly realize that copyright status is a difficult, complex subject, so you're always welcome to ask at the media copyright questions board for some editors experienced in that to help you make a determination. Additionally, the Hirtle chart is a useful reference for determining if an image has aged out of eligibility for copyright. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Actually the text I copied was from the PT-109 article I wrote most of, not the John F. Kennedy, although I wrote much of the section on PT-109 in the John Kennedy article as well. I greatly appreciate your advice and information.

As a secondary issue, I was wondering if you knew the tag to use if you are making extensive edits on a page, particularly one you have just begun and moved to article space and need time to complete your edits before you are deluged with warning tags for missing categories or references or other essential information. I usually keep my new articles in Draft: mode, but sometimes I upload them and don't have time to complete them before getting deluged with comments while I am trying to complete the article. I also quote a Federal Judge, but then I guess you'd consider her biased because she's from a District of Columbia Court. Murray, there are no non-biased sources in a larger sense, my friend when it comes to politics. And yes National Review is one of the most conservative newspapers in America, and was once the brain child of William F. Buckley, one of the most conservative, if brilliant, political commentators in America. I appreciate your work. All the facts in the document have been verified hundreds of times by all kinds of sources. Manafort himself admitted he gave polling documents to Konstantin Kilimnik, so I would think he's a reliable source. He's admitted it more than once. If the FBI isnt a reliable source than I guess we're all sunk and they've given the odds that Kilimnik was a Russian agent at about 80% reliable. So I'm not certain sourcing is the only issue here. I filed an unblock request but found after rebooting I was no longer blocked from editing. There may have been a VPN button on my Bitdefender Browser which may have temporarily caused a block. I will no longer use Bitdefender Browser to edit wikipedia as it can cause blocking issues as if is seen as a Virtual Private Network at times. Not sure why else there could have been a block.

There is no current block after a simple reboot. I am a dedicated wikipedia editor and have many high quality pages I have written or edited. I have worked largely in Sports.

I am a former professional writer, and try diligently never to reference material from other sources including online documents without completely re-writing in my own words. However, I write long wiki articles and a few parts of a short sentence may remain in tact. I will endeavor to insure that I modify any material referenced from online sources so that not a single short phrase of the online source remains in my wiki version. I am sorry for this matter taking your time and appreciate your efforts. Certain phrases or long words like the name of an honor in the honors section may remain the same words, and these can be several words, if so, I put them in sentences that are not included in the source material. The entire first paragraph of Bonnie Adair (which I did not write) is copied from the following website word for word with not a single modification:

My edits were modified in sentence structure, grammar, and order, but were entirely deleted because I was careful to include the full path to the source as I always do.

Hello Dcw2003. The reason your edit got flagged is because we have a detection system that uses the Turnitin service to locate copyright violations. It compares all additions over a certain size to material available online. It does not compare with citations present in the article; it compares with the rest of the Internet and content they retain in a database. I acrtually do think I understand what you are saying: You are saying that there was copyright content in the article before you even arrived. I checked, and that is true. It was copied from this website right from the very first edit, which took place in 2007. The source document is dated 2002. So this is what we call a "foundational copyright violation". It was not caught by our Turnitin service in 2007, because that system was not in place until June 2016. I know it is not your responsibility to re-write the article but you are welcome to do so if you like. If nobody cleans the copyvio, the article will either be deleted or trimmed back to a stub by the patrollers who work the cases listed at WP:CP. The template below implies that you added the copyvio, but I know that's not the case. Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into John Trembley. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. It had NO references when I started or practically none, which was a frustrating experience. I work really hard at this and have been writing wiki articles now for close to 10 years. I was a technical writer previously. I was a college swimmer and a masters swimmer and I've been writing articles on swim coaches now for a couple of years. I try to find 20-30 references per wiki article I write, and piece together as much information as possible.
