Thank you for working to improve Wikipedia. Could you explain this edit? A page trying to link to itself (other than linking to a subsection of itself) just changes the text to bold. Surely linking to the disambiguation page is more useful? although now that i think about it, in context the disambiguation strikes me as neither necessary nor harmful.

I didn't notice that I was linking back to the same page - careless of me. Thanks for pointing it out. I've reverted the edit. I think that the only harm in linking to the DAB page is that the reader will think they're going some place useful only to be directed back to where they started. Disambiguation pages are meant to help readers find specific existing information quickly and easily. They are merely navigation pages and don't present new information but, rather, point the reader to the best article for that information. I couldn't find any article that mentioned a margarine called Melange, so it doesn't belong on the disambiguation page. If an article is written on the margarine, or a significant mention in another article, it could then be added back, with that article as a supporting link.
