Rescentris Unveils New CERF Electronic Lab Notebook Software At InnovationWell 2007

COLUMBUS, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Rescentris, Inc. today announced the new major release of its CERF software. CERF is the leading electronic lab notebook (ELN) and scientific content management solution for multidiscipline life sciences research. CERF 2.7 was unveiled at the InnovationWell meeting, Advances in Information, Communications and Knowledge Management Support Systems for R&D held in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Scientists and managers from leading informatics and pharmaceutical companies participated in the InnovationWell Workshop. Members shared experiences about information and communications technology (ICT) supporting R&D and discussed current and next generation needs for electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) systems, collaboration support, and knowledge tools supporting R&D. Jeff Spitzner, Chief Science Officer, Rescentris, said, The InnovationWell events bring together a unique group of leaders, innovators, and visionaries in the industry. This is the ideal forum for unveiling new scientific software.

Rescentris based its CERF 2.7 release on feedback from users in dozens of customer organizations. According to Jeff Spitzner, Our clients wanted an even easier, more interactive experience right in the notebook to create and manage all their documents and data. In addition to robust copy/paste and drag/drop functions, continued Dr. Spitzner, our users wanted to have a great deal of flexibility, including moving notebook entries around and re-ordering data based on the dynamic nature of their research.

The updated CERF 2.7 web interface offers expanded configuration options for administrators and legal/regulatory, including user/workgroup management, security, compliance, and signature workflows. Features designed to improve the value and user experience for scientists include advanced inline options for creating and editing entries and images in the notebook and embedding of Microsoft Office® applications, more options to reuse content and experiments as templates, automated publishing, and added flexibility to make CERF highly adaptable to the way different users work.
