Three Grant Opportunities for Laboratory Data Exchange – Application Deadlines June 20th and July 8th

Three grant funding opportunities are available: 1) Lab US Realm Pilot Project, 2) High Impact Pilots (HIP) and 3) Standards Exploration Awards (SEA)

Laboratory data exchange is a priority area for three recent funding announcements made by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).  The grants are intended to support health IT standards testing and implementation, building on federal and private efforts to ensure health information can flow where it is needed. If you are performing work to advance interoperability and laboratory data exchange, please consider applying for one or more of these opportunities.

Lab US Realm Pilot Project Deadline Extended to June 20th (Letter of Intent as soon as possible)

The deadline for submissions to the Lab US Realm Pilot Project has been extended to June 20, 2016. In recognition of the limited time frame for action under this opportunity, acceptable proposals for this S&I Lab Project can focus on production of cost-savings studies that can be used to promote the adoption of the suite of Lab US Realm Implementation Guides. Please contact Mike Flanigan for more information. Note that a non-binding letter of intent can be sent as soon as possible.

High Impact Pilots (HIP) and Standards Exploration Awards (SEA): Application deadline July 8th (Letter of Intent by June 10th)

The High Impact Pilots and Standards Exploration Awards cooperative agreement programs blend together standards and technology implementations to improve health information sharing among health care stakeholders, improve care delivery, and demonstrate how health IT can positively impact patient experience.  The HIP award will make 3-7 awards for amounts ranging between $100k-$500k and require applicants to select 3 Impact Dimensions to address as part of their Project. The SEA award will make 3-5 awards for amounts ranging between $50k-$100k and require applicants to select 1 Impact Dimension to address as part of their Project.
