“Chagas Disease also known as American trypanosomiasis infects ~7 million people worldwide. Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative agent, is endemic in Latin America where it infects humans and other mammals. During this webinar you will learn about the disease, the pathogen and its transmission as well as the laboratory methods for diagnosis. The speakers will also discuss the challenges faced by persons living in the US but born in Chagas endemic areas and transmission dynamics of the pathogen within the US.”
